Joshua Reeves, co-founder and CEO of Gusto, said that the acquisition falls in line with the company’s long-term focus on customers and simplicity. With this tie-up, the companies can simply do that automatically for Gusto’s extensive number of customers. Ardius in its current incarnation was designed to tap into a number of payroll data providers and extract that data and turn it into verifiable tax documents. The strategy here is simple: Most R&D credits require payroll documentation, data that is already stored in Gusto’s system of record. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and Ardius will run as an independent business with the entire team transitioning to Gusto. The Los Angeles-based company was founded by Joshua Lee in 2018, who previously had worked for more than a decade at accounting firm EY. Gusto, which started off with payroll for SMBs and has since expanded into employee on-boarding, insurance, benefits and other HR offerings, today announced that it is acquiring Ardius, a startup designed to automate tax compliance particularly around R&D tax credits. So a number of startups have been launched to solve that gap, and now, larger companies are entering the fray as well. Those credits, which is what helps tech giants keep their tax rates to near zero, are hard for smaller companies to receive because of extensive documentation requirements and potential audit costs. Just over half a year later they resigned from A minor and decided to go back to being independent.Free money from the government sounds like winning the lottery, but the reality is that most tech startups and even local retail businesses and restaurants can potentially qualify for tax credits related to research and development in the United States. Probably the most skillful performance unit in A minor, they started as Parallel 5, lost some members, rebranded, got ripped off, lost all their money, stuck in there and recently signed with A minor.

Run and produced by Guso Drop's manager Daniel, seems to have been on hiatus forever.ĭebuted: 2015 kind of (former group Parallel 5 had been going before this) Described by Daichi as "Unfashionable rock with two girls who have weak voices". They have a load of groups on the "soon to debut list" so I'll introduce what I can. Since summer 2016, 3 members have dropped out in quick succession. Urara is tiny but evil, Miyabi is broken in a really cute way (reminds me of a less violent Shion, actually), Mirumo is basically an exhibitionist and Hono really doesn't stand out. Will see where it goes.įormer Members: Kaname Karen, Nagashima Urara, Setsuna Miyabi, Hoshijima MirumoĪ group with a core of pretty fun craziness. I've seen Maruyama at a few Guso Drop concerts just hanging around and getting drunk. Members: Honda Manami, Maruyama Yuka, Saekaĭaichi's wish for a older, more adult kind of group debuted on January 23rd.

From 2017, Rin, Wakapiku (formerly of Gekidol and Lolisyn Reboot) and Miyako have joined. Shion left in early 2016, and Saki at the end of 2016. Expect moshpits, stagediving and crowdsurfing, as well as slippery floors from Shion spitting water everywhere. Leaning more towards a technical death metal, punk and techno sound, their fans are also a lot more hardcore than most idol fans. Formed by 2&'s Saki and 4 new girls, their image and sound is completely different. Twitter: Group| Saki| Rei| Yura| Anna| Rin| Waka| Miyako Members: Rei, Yura, Anna, Rin, Waka, Miyako Montero is Filipino but can only speak Japanese. Kai used to study in America and so speaks pretty good English. The other half are produced by Vocaloid songwriter Nejishiki so yea. A Dernier group, who play with a punk covers band (called 6% is Mine) who also produce about half of their songs.

Kind of a collaboration between so many things it's hard to know where to start. Her first song, Vampire Kiss, sounds like this: Her image is very much chuunibyou, and she introduces herself as the Magic Vampire Girl. Saki has her own thread here so read that for more details.įumimi started out as a really independent idol (she was her own producer, negotiated her own ways onto bills and eventually got a song made for her) but recently she joined DM Produce and had Daichi take care of that stuff. Formed by the merger of DM Produce and Dernier, A Minor is a new agency with many already established groups and a few new ones coming up. So, there's a new underground idol powerhouse in town.
